As the whole world probably knows by now, the former Hollywood power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie are getting divorced. This announcement was made after Jolie reportedly learned that Pitt cheated on her with another actress. Jolie immediately filed for divorce and now the two are fighting over who gets custody of their six kids.
Jolie originally stated she wanted sole custody of their children and that Pitt could have visitation rights only. This was supposed to be the terms of a temporary custody agreement that she wanted to make. However, Pitt wants to have joint custody of their kids and not just visitation rights. Of course, the judge may not be so eager to give Pitt joint custody because of the altercation he had with his son Maddox Jolie-Pitt on a private plane.
Right now, Pitt is under investigation for child abuse after an anonymous call was made to the Los Angeles County Department of Children and Family Services which stated that Pitt verbally and physically assaulted his son. A source close to Pitt denied these allegations and said it never took place.
Jolie was even visited by two FBI agents back in October. They were trying to look for any evidence that would give them reason to conduct a formal investigation. According to an FBI spokesperson, there is still a preliminary investigation going on into the allegations. Chances are they won’t find any incriminating evidence unless there is a witness that comes forward to say they saw Pitt actually assaulting Maddox. There is no word as to whether Maddox has told investigators that he was assaulted.
Pitt and Jolie used to seem like a Hollywood couple who were both truly in love. But like most Hollywood marriages, theirs would last only two years before they got separated.
