Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, may be one of the few members of the Trump clan who is realistic about Trump’s chances of winning the general election on November 8th. After all, the national polls are not looking too good for Trump. In the latest Wall Street Journal/NBC News poll, Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton is beating Trump by 11 points. With less than a month before the election, Trump doesn’t have a lot of time to make a comeback.
A lot of Trump’s biggest troubles came in just the last few weeks. It first started when a tape from 2005 was leaked where you can hear Trump bragging about being able to kiss and grope women because he’s a celebrity. Then a week after that, women from Trump’s past came forward and accused him of sexually assaulting them years ago. Even though Trump has denied these allegations, many women in the Republican Party are reconsidering their vote.
Jared Kushner, who is Trump’s campaign adviser and married to his daughter Ivanka Trump, has reportedly talked with a big media businessperson about the possibility of starting a Trump TV network in case Trump loses the election. This businessperson is Aryeh Bourkoff, who founded the investment banking firm “LionTree.”
The Trump TV network would basically be a news network. Discussions of creating this network have been floating around for months now, due to the large crowds and the “movement” that Trump has created with his presidential campaign. He’s also gained almost 10 million new Twitter followers since he announced his run for the presidency in June of 2015. So there would definitely be interest from millions of people in watching a Trump TV news channel. Therefore, if Trump loses the election, we may still be hearing about him for many years to come.
