Anyone who grew up in the 1980s probably remembers the original Nintendo Entertainment System. This was a revolutionary video gaming console which featured the most memorable video games of all time. The two biggest video games were Super Mario Bros and The Legend of Zelda. Those are franchises that spawned dozens of sequels that are still being made to this day on the newer Nintendo gaming consoles.

On November 11th, fans of the classic NES system will now have a chance to relive that experience with the release of the NES Classic Edition. This is a miniature version of the original NES and it features 30 classic NES games that are programmed into the system. Due to its computer integrated technology, there are no cartridges or discs you have to put into it like you had to with the original NES console. It is basically a plug and play unit that you can quickly hook up to virtually any flat screen television with an HDMI port.

Some of the games you can expect to find on the system include Super Mario Bros, Super Mario Bros 2, Super Mario Bros 3, The Legend of Zelda, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link, Castlevania, Castlevania II: Simon’s Quest, Donkey Kong, and many more. The added benefit to the NES Classic Edition is that gamers will be able to play their favorite NES games from their child on HD televisions. As for those from the newer generation who didn’t grow up in the 1980s, they’ll get to experience these games for the first time. The best part is the games won’t freeze while you’re playing them like they used to with the original system.

The NES Classic Edition will be priced at $59.99. It will come with only one controller but you can purchase a second controller separately for $9.99.
