You’d think President-elect Donald Trump would have a lot of important things on his mind right now. But, he apparently couldn’t help himself to comment on the weak ratings of the new “Celebrity Apprentice” reality TV show, which is hosted by Arnold Schwarzenegger. Trump, who is still the executive producer of the show, did not like how the ratings of the show seemed to tank without him hosting it.
Here is what Trump wrote on Twitter: “Arnold Schwarzenegger got ‘swamped’ (or destroyed) by comparison to the ratings machine, DJT.” The “ratings machine” term was a reference to himself and how he always had great ratings on the show when he was hosting it. Trump continued his tweet with the following statement, “So much for… being a movie star and that was season 1 compared to season 14. Now compare him to my season 1. But who cares, he supported Kasich and Hillary.”
Perhaps Trump is just bitter that Schwarzenegger didn’t support him during his presidential campaign. Either way, Schwarzenegger wasn’t about to take Trump’s comments without responding himself. Schwarzenegger fired back at Trump on Twitter with the following message, “There’s nothing more important than the people’s work, @realDonaldTrump … I wish you the best of luck and I hope you’ll work for ALL of the American people as aggressively as you worked for your ratings.”
Schwarzenegger made another post which included an embedded video of himself where he’s reading a section of the first inaugural address that former President Abraham Lincoln made. This was a tweet he first posted after Election Day, but he obviously felt the need to repost it.
It looks as if Schwarzenegger really wants Trump to succeed as president and to care as much about the country as he does about the ratings of the “Celebrity Apprentice.”
